Thermoplastic is just a tricky name for heated sheets of plastic run through a vacuuform machine. Strength comes from the thickness of the plastic.

When you strip off chrome from plastic, there is clear lacquer underneath used to seal the plastic for the chroming process. Usually you can leave this alone but I found it is better for paint adhesion if you strip it using the other methods listed previously.

Two more days and no better. A friend suggested Lestoil which is a pine based cleaner thats been around forever. It did the charm with a 24 hour soak.

For brush painting, I find that results can vary from color to color. Some colors are opaque, some semi-opaque, and other translucent.
