A part of the Carola Bridge, one of four crossing the Elbe river in downtown Dresden, has partially collapsed. The pedestrian and cycle path, as well as the local tram tracks have been affected, according to the Dresden fire department.

Officials are investigating why a concrete bridge partially collapsed in Dresden, eastern Germany early Wednesday, disrupting a major traffic artery and closing the river to traffic. No one was injured and foul play has been ruled out.
